ACT-BT5712U-v2 is designed to provide a bridge solution between two different wireless technologies on data transmission: IrDA® and Bluetooth®. If your sender device supports IrDA only (e.g., PDA) and your receiver device supports Bluetooth only (e.g., Smart phones, Tablets), then you can use it as a Bluetooth-to-IrDA Bridge. It can convert Data received through Bluetooth (SPP profile support only) from sender to traditional IrDA data or vice versa. It allows you to use your ready-made application to link Bluetooth up with IR technology. Using Configuration Utility, you can set parameters at IR side.
It is battery powered in addition to AC power operation. This makes the bridge ideal for use in the field application.
